Class of 1944 Award Challenge

The Spartanburg High School Class of 1944 was forged by the Great Depression, tested by World War II and the Korean Conflict, and proven by service to Country, Community, and Alma Mater. The Class of 1944 established a scholarship fund in 1984 with $10,000 that has resulted in the award of 98 Scholarships totaling $198,750 to SHS Graduates who have demonstrated Character, Leadership Promise, Academic Achievement, and Financial Need.

In honor of the Class of 1944, subsequent classes who provide the largest Annual Class Gift will be presented the “Spartanburg High School Class of 1944 Award.”
