D7’s Synergizes: Together is Better
From superlatives in leadership to star power in the studio 4th graders from the Cleveland Academy of Leadership wowed more than 600 educators from every corner of the United States during Franklin Covey Foundation’s annual Leadership Symposium.
Barbara Wilson, music teacher at The Cleveland Academy, wrote an original song entitled “I Wanna Be a Leader” and professionally recorded a music video. After submitting the song to the Franklin Covey Foundation, Mrs. Wilson and her students, Leaders Under Construction, were invited to perform the song and debut the video at the annual Leader in Me symposium at the Marriott on February 18.
Putting their leadership skills to practice students at both District Leader In Me schools - Cleveland and Chapman Elementary School - showcased to symposium attendees The Leader In Me curriculum, which is anchored in the leadership principals from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
A year ago, Cleveland Academy was named a Lighthouse School – and in fact, is only the 173rd Lighthouse school in the nation. Gaining Lighthouse status puts Cleveland in the upper echelon of schools that are producing students who demonstrate the strongest leadership qualities, and is the result of a community-wide collaboration that has proved to have a lasting impact on our children and our community.
And now what you’ve waited for - “I Wanna Be A Leader”! We hope it will uplift you and tug at your heart!
