Dance Teacher and Advocate Honored

Susan Woodham’s desire for students to experience life through dance is profound and contagious to everyone she meets.
District 7 is pleased to announce Ms. Woodham is the recipient of the prestigious Ray Doughty Arts Integration Award, given by The Palmetto State Arts Education Organization each year to honor an individual who embodies the true spirit of arts integration through the successful utilization of community partnerships and resources.
Ms. Woodham, dance teacher for Pine Street School and dance instructor and Outreach Coordinator for Ballet Spartanburg, has been the driving force for the arts integration programs throughout the Spartanburg community for over 26 years. A tireless advocate for the arts, Ms. Woodham’s forward thinking, enthusiasm, and efforts have been instrumental in driving the tremendous change and growth for the arts in Spartanburg, in South Carolina, and of course, at Pine Street School.
