District 7 Announces Gains in SAT and AP Scores
Principal Stevens said the report on the high school’s passage rate for Advanced Placement tests is equally strong. “Our score of 77% is well above the state and national passage rate. That percentage is even more impressive when you consider the number of exams our students are taking and the number of AP courses that our teachers are offering.”
The district gave 586 exams in 23 subjects during the 2014-2015 academic year. It should also be noted that SHS has the highest number of approved AP courses by the College Board of any high school in the state (26). Stevens also said, Spartanburg High School had a record 108 students earning AP Scholar Awards for their exceptional achievement on AP exams.
Superintendent Russell Booker echoed Steven’s praise for students and educators at the high school and commended the entire district. “What transpires at Spartanburg High School is the culminating effect of the hard work of each of our schools at every level.”
