Visual Arts
Creating Beautiful Things Together
The E.P. Todd art curriculum provides students with the experiences to learn how to communicate through art, develop skills in visual problem solving, as well as craftsmanship and technique. Art teaches students to appreciate historical and current purposes for the creation of art and its cultural diversities. Art encourages students to make connections to real-life and other subjects. Art stimulates the development of critical and creative thinking skills. Students are encouraged to use their imagination to create beautiful works of art.
A variety of media and techniques are introduced to students including, but not limited to, oil pastels, color pencils, collage, watercolor-crayon resist, painting, drawing, printing, and sculpting. Students are encouraged to fine tune their craftsmanship in these various forms of media and techniques.
Our students’ artworks are continuously on display throughout our school. Students also participate in many art shows and exhibits throughout the year, winning awards and ribbons.
