Band/Strings/Orchestra

Orchestra and Band

Performing arts classes begin in grade 5. Students have the opportunity to participate in orchestra or band. The performance arts extend to after school and weekend events held at Mary H. Wright, other district seven schools, and arenas such as the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Performing arts students may audition for the district wide Honors Orchestra which combines the best musicians of several elementary and middle school orchestras.

Chorus

Students from grades 3-5 are encouraged to participate in chorus. Chorus members perform at community events to showcase their talent. Special performances include winter and spring concerts in correlation with other performing arts events throughout the school district and community.

Dance Team

Girls in grades 4-5 have the opportunity to audition for Mary H. Wright’s interpretive dance team. Performance opportunities range from Black History Month program or other district and community fine arts events.
