Despite the challenges each of us faces as our homes, families, and community recovers from Hurricane Helene, October 2, 2024 marked a truly inspiring moment for our District 7 family as we came together to prepare and distribute meals to help our greater Spartanburg community. In partnership with Chartwells, we were able to provide close to 3,600 free, boxed hot meals at Spartanburg High School and Pine Street Elementary. Thanks to our collaboration with the City of Spartanburg and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, we also reached hundreds more families in need throughout our community.

"The outpouring of support from our volunteers, staff, and students was nothing short of remarkable," reflected Superintendent Jeff Stevens. "It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, rolling up their sleeves and working side by side, demonstrating our commitment to service and compassion. This effort exemplifies what it means to be part of the D7 community and our theme for this year: "Going for Great." Each meal served was not just food; it was a message of hope and community support."

D7 is proving that in difficult times, we rise as one. Let’s continue this momentum and strive for greatness together!
