Mission
The Jesse Boyd Media Center strives to help students learn to use information so that they can communicate their own ideas creatively. We are very excited to provide a connection between books, technology, and literacy in our library. To be democratic participants, students need to have an excitement to seek information about a variety of topics, read for learning and enjoyment, and use information to help them make ethical decisions and take ACTION. We recognize that technology has an important role in our global society, and students need to be prepared to use technology to communicate with peers and community.
Media Center Hours
The library media center is open 7:30am-2:30 pm every day.
Library Visits
All students have a weekly library visit for story time, media literacy lessons, and book checkout. Students can visit the library with a teacher’s pass any time throughout the day in order to exchange their library books. 4K students check out books to read in their classroom during independent reading time. Kindergarten though second graders may check out 1 book. Third through fifth graders can check out 2 books. Books are due in one week. Students may renew their books if they have not finished. If they have overdue books, they may not check out another book until the overdue book is turned in, renewed, or replace with a new copy. You can search Jesse Boyd School Library Catalog from home or school to find books in our library.
