What is PowerSchool?

The state of South Carolina public schools use PowerSchool student information system (SIS) to manage all aspects of student data including attendance, grading, schedules and reporting.  One of the components of PowerSchool is an online portal that students and parents can use to view password-protected information. Keeping up to date with your child's progress in classes and talking with them about their assignments and grades is a great way for you to help them be successful.

A PowerSchool Parent account allows you to follow your student’s progress on a regular basis, including assignments, grades, attendance and schedules.

How to Get Started

Contact your child's school and ask for your Parent Portal Access Letter.  It contains everything you need to get started.

Once you have an account, you can either use the PowerSchool website or download the app to your phone. The app helps you connect on the go and receive notifications when there is new information about your child. Once you have created your parent account, download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android.

Here are some tips to help you get the most value from the PowerSchool Parent Portal:

1. Look at grades and assignments with your child.
2. Check grades and attendance regularly.
3. Ask you child to explain assignments and grades.
4. Contact the teacher if you need further information about an assignment or grade.

I don’t understand a question/I am having technical difficulties. Please contact your child's school for help.
