Spartanburg is Building a Bright Future!

There's Only One: Spartanburg!

Welcome to the Hub City!

Spartanburg Festival

Located in one of the best areas for outdoor recreation, Spartanburg boasts a diverse economy and a thriving downtown. Nestled among rolling foothills at the base of the Appalachian Mountains, Spartanburg was named the first Bicycling Friendly Community in South Carolina by the League of American Bicyclists in 2007. From the Hub City Connector - a 12.5 mile bicycle-pedestrian trail traversing the city’s urban core - to renowned Hatcher Garden, Spartanburg residents are able to enjoy nature year-round.

Entertainment and cultural opportunities are abundant. The Chapman Cultural Center, located in the heart of downtown, opened in 2007 and houses four museums and the David Reid Theatre, a 500-seat performing hall. Downtown Spartanburg is also home to The Showroom and Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, a pair of music halls that attract top regional and national acts. Outdoor music is also a tradition in Spartanburg, with Music on Main and Jazz on the Square drawing hundreds of people to downtown’s streets.

Spartanburg County’s 286,868 residents also enjoy an eclectic mix of shopping and dining options expected of an urban area of its size. There are six colleges and universities located within county lines. And when the urge to travel strikes, the conviently located Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is serviced by 7 airlines. Just 3 hours to both Atlanta and the coast, 90 minutes to the state capital in Columbia, SC, an hour from Asheville, NC, and 60 minutes to Charlotte, NC, Spartanburg sits within an easy drive of many desirable destinations.
