In District 7, the band has been playing on – and enriching the lives of students and our community – for well over a century. In fact, Spartanburg High School's band program was among the earliest in the nation. Spartanburg Magazine recently published a cover story celebrating the 150th anniversary of high school bands in America, as told through the lens of our very own Viking Band program by Spartanburg native John Jeter.
