COVID Vaccine Info
Our D7 nurses continue to roll up their sleeves to keep our colleagues and children safe. School nurses are among the first group of employees to receive the coronavirus vaccine. As healthcare workers, they are included in the Phase 1a group in SC’s vaccine rollout. Our health services team has become the backbone of daily school operations, working tirelessly to support student and staff wellness. Their dedication to quick and thorough contact tracing for every positive COVID-19 case takes the forefront, seven days a week. They are our lifeblood as never before and we give thanks for their tremendous dedication.
Our staff members and teachers over age 65 are also able to receive the vaccine in this phase. All other teachers will be included in Phase 1b, which is anticipated to begin this spring. As part of ongoing COVID-19 communications with the community, the District has created a webpage with key information from DHEC and the CDC about the COVID-19 vaccine and its availability. Our goal is to help educate and connect our community with information so that our employees and families can make an informed decision about receiving the vaccine.

Recently, three District 7 employees participated in a virtual education panel hosted by Regenesis Healthcare and the Spartanburg Clergy Initiative as part of their four-week series to educate and encourage Spartanburg to stop the spread of the virus. It is hard to adequately express how much we appreciate our staff y for the way they are supporting our students, our families, and one another. We are evolving nearly every aspect of how we work in order to educate during a global pandemic. We could not be prouder of our District 7 family for setting the example.
