In response to community interest, Spartanburg School District 7 is offering opportunities in the new Spartanburg High School for individuals, companies and other groups to leave their names or to honor other individuals in perpetuity.

Purchase a Custom Engraved Brick Paver

Custom, engraved brick pavers have been installed on each side of District 7's commissioned sculpture on the high school campus in the Fine Arts Center plaza.  The sculpture by Maria Kirby-Smith celebrates the 50th anniversary of the integration of Spartanburg High School. The bricks make perfect gifts for that Viking alum! They are also a great to way to remember a loved one… to pay tribute… to create a memorial for those who have gone before… to inspire those who come after. Each engraved brick paver is $100 and is 100% tax deductable and benefits the D7 scholarship fund. Your gift ensures that both your legacy—and our community’s rich history—are preserved for future generations.

Pavers can accommodate up to three lines of text. Bricks will be ordered and installed in batches throughout the year, with exact timeline to be determined by the volume of bricks ordered. The first order of bricks was installed in October at the Fine Arts Center entrance plaza. Once the courtyard is filled, additional brick orders will be installed in surrounding areas of the SHS campus. Order your brick(s) by submitting this form along with payment (checks payable to Spartanburg County Foundation re: SHS Bricks) to: Spartanburg School District 7, Office of Superintendent Re: SHS Bricks, 610 Dupre Drive, Spartanburg SC 29307.

Please consider using this fillable certificate if you’d like to give a brick as a gift.

Give An Interior or Exterior Space

Participants may also add their names or the names of someone they wish to honor to a lab or classroom, a wing, an outside area, or a variety of other interior and exterior spaces. This is also an opportunity for alumni groups, athletic teams, community organizations, and other partners to leave a legacy. The full menu of opportunities is outlined in the flipbook below. Gifts will provide scholarships for SHS students via the District 7 fund administered by the Spartanburg County Foundation. Your participation creates two legacies – one for the person being honored and one for the students who will benefit. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit this form and/or contact the Office of Superintendent at 864.594.4405 or via email.
