Academic Awards Ceremony 2025
🏆Spartanburg High School was honored to recognize students from all grades in our Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony on March 24, 2025. 🏆 This program was established in 1990 by former SHS principal Joe Clark, who we welcomed in our audience last night, to honor students who have excelled in a variety of academic pursuits. In addition to the student recognitions, this awards ceremony provides students the opportunity to hear from distinguished speakers who excel in their careers. This year, we welcomed former District 7 Superintendent, Dr. Russell Booker, who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for Spartanburg Academic Movement.

Student recognitions included accomplishments such as a 4.5 grade point ratio or higher, straight A’s, National Merit Program recognitions, United States Presidential Scholar candidate, perfect scores on the SAT/PSAT/ACT, and the number of repeat recognitions throughout their career at SHS.

Surrounded by parents and guardians, grandparents, and friends who support them on a daily basis, our students were reminded that their success is the result of their individual commitment and perseverance, as well as the guidance and investment from all who mentor them throughout their journey. They were reminded of Spartanburg High School’s long legacy of propelling students to the pinnacle of their careers - a tradition that now includes them (💙💛 #AlwaysAViking 💙💛) - and that they have the capacity to achieve anything they set their hearts and minds to do.
